After a great day climbing and skiing Jake's Peak (forgot the camera so no pics) I came home to learn the horrible news that Shane McConkey died in a ski base jumping accident in Italy today. I met Shane once on the Funitel at Squaw, it was early season and he was on a Snowboard of all things.

RIP Shane!

Tamarack

Sorry for the lack of posts, the skiing has been that good! Little time for taking pics, but here's one of Drew today on Tamarack Peak. Not bad for a couple days after the storm!!

Skiing was amazing at Squaw today. Only the lower mountain opened, but it was bottomless. Top of the mountain opens tomorrow!

It's Dumping!

It started snowing Sunday night, then it rained, then it snowed, then it snowed some more, and it's still snowing more. Coming down at about an inch an hour, removed 60cm from the deck (the bottom snow that had been rained on was particularly fun) and then another couple inches after I finished! Mt Rose was high enough to miss the rain, great skiing yesterday. Needed a day off today to get stuff done, the next few days are going to be...wait for it....LEGENDARY!
